Founded by Nicky Taylor-East, likemary’s collections are inspired by the textures, fabrics, and cultures encountered along the way, particularly during Nicky’s time in India. Nicky was first drawn to India by the sun-soaked beaches of Goa and soon after found herself captivated by the pine-covered peaks of the Himalayas.

The brand is built on values of sustainability, ethical production, and timeless design. likemary prioritizes working directly with artisans, developing long-standing relationships based on trust and respect.

Each collection tells the story of a free-spirited woman on a journey, embracing a life of exploration, comfort, and style—whether she’s on holiday by the sea, wandering through a bustling market, or cozying up at home – working from home. likemary offers versatile, stylish pieces designed to last, prioritizing comfort, quality, and practicality, so that women feel confident and ready for any adventure.

The brand’s ethos combines sustainability and versatility, with a commitment to providing clothing and accessories that are made to be lived in – timeless pieces that feel good, look good, and don’t cost the earth.

About Nicky Taylor-East

Nicky Taylor-East, founder of likemary, has Maltese mediterranean roots and upbringing. What started as a love for travel and a quest for adventure eventually led to the creation of likemary, a brand initially inspired by the craftsmanship and warmth of handmade products from the Himalayas.

After spending years traveling and then working in fashion in London, Nicky realized she wanted something more meaningful – a venture that combined her passion for travel with her appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. The spark for likemary came from a wear-forever shawl that she bought in India. This hand woven merino wool blanket scarf became her constant companion, offering warmth and comfort on long bus rides, flights, and chilly evenings. It was her meditation shawl, travel blanket, and work-from-home comfort wrap.

One evening, while wrapped in that beloved shawl, the idea for likemary was born. Nicky knew she wanted to share these beautifully crafted products with the world. Soon after, she returned to India, where she partnered with local artisans and weavers to bring her vision to life. Starting at Portobello Market in London, likemary quickly grew, expanding to include signature items like harem jumpsuits, all crafted ethically with a focus on sustainability.

Nicky’s relationships with her suppliers run deep. From the weavers in the Himalayan Valley to the small workshops in Delhi, these connections are built on mutual trust and respect. likemary remains committed to supporting traditional craftsmanship while offering timeless, versatile pieces that reflect Nicky’s journey and values.

At likemary, it’s not just about the products—it’s about the people, the stories, and the communities behind them.

Our Fabrics and Craftsmanship

At likemary, Nicky personally dedicates time to sourcing every fabric. She visits both the artisans who create the garments and the fabric suppliers at least once a year to ensure that all materials are sourced from trusted suppliers. Nicky’s commitment to supporting local craftspeople means that likemary provides an opportunity for artisans to showcase their skills and share their beautiful work with the world.

Limited Edition Clothing

Many of likemary’s garments are crafted from off-cuts and dead-stock fabric, promoting sustainability and reducing waste. Every new style is first made in small-batch production, always from dead-stock fabric. We love this approach because it ensures that these limited drops cannot be mass-produced—once the fabric is gone, it’s gone! This means you’ll likely be the only person you know wearing this unique style and print.
