Nicky Taylor-East, founder of likemary, is of Maltese descent with Mediterranean roots and upbringing. Born from a love of travel and
a quest for adventure, likemary was created, initially inspired by the craftsmanship and warmth of handmade shawl scarves from the Himalayas.

After spending years traveling, followed by short stint working in fashion in London, Nicky realised she needed something more meaningful – a venture that would combine her passion for travel with her appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. The spark that ignited the likemary brand came from a wear-forever shawl that she bought during her travels in India. This hand-woven merino wool shawl scarf became her constant companion, providing warmth and comfort on long bus rides, flights and chillyevenings. It served as her meditation shawl, travel blanket, and work-from-home
comfort wrap.

One evening, wrapped in the warmth of that beloved shawl, the idea for likemary was born. Driven by a desire to share these expertly handwoven treasures with the world, Nicky returned to India, where she collaborated with local artisans and weavers to bring her vision to life. Starting at Portobello Market in London, likemary quickly grew, expanding to include signature items like harem jumpsuits, all made with a focus on sustainability by using reclaimed fabrics wherever possible.

Nicky cultivates deep relationships with her suppliers, from the weavers in the Himalayan Valley to the small, family-run workshops in Delhi. These connections are founded on mutual trust and respect. likemary remains committed
to supporting traditional and ethical craftsmanship while designing versatile
pieces that prioritise comfort and ease of wear over fleeting trends, making
